ZOTAC Launches GeForce GTX 670 AMP! Edition
May 10th 2012, 13:03

ZOTAC launched its GeForce GTX 670 lineup with an AMP! Edition variant. The card is almost identical to the GTX 680 AMP! Edition launched a couple of days ago, except of course it has a GTX 670 ASIC. Like Galaxy, ZOTAC took the reference design PCB of GeForce GTX 680, and seated a GTX 670 chip on to it. This allows the chip to take advantage of the slightly stronger VRM at its disposal, and achieve higher clock speeds. Apart from the PCB, ZOTAC implemented its triple-slot custom-design cooling solution that uses two large PWM-controlled fans to ventilate a thick aluminum fin stack which draws heat from the GPU. The memory and VRM are cooled by additional heatsinks. ZOTAC packed out of the box clock speeds of 1098 MHz core, 1176 MHz GPU Boost frequency, and 1652 MHz (6.60 GHz effective), churning out a staggering 211 GB/s memory bandwidth, the highest ever for 256-bit bus width. ZOTAC is asking US $439.99 for the GeForce GTX 670 AMP!.
