When AMD launched the 5000 series graphics cards about a year ago, they were first to market with DX11 products. And while DX11 still hasn't quite hit the mainstream yet in terms of widespread popularity, the 5000 cards themselves proved to be a hit, offering excellent gaming performance, running rather cool and quiet for the most part (at least, the non-reference models), and perhaps most importantly, bringing good value and price to the market.
But as we know, Nvidia isn't one to sit idly by, and you're only as good as your last success. So AMD kept on the offensive, releasing the 6000 series cards to market, and this brings us to the topic of today's discussion: the PowerColor Radeon PCS+ 6870.
What's unique about this PowerColor card is that it's not a reference heatsink; it's got a custom cooler and a healthy factory overclock as well, promising some great gaming horsepower with respectable temperatures and power consumption. And not only that, but it comes with a free copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 tossed in for good measure. Tasty.
