XFX 850W Black Edition Power Supply

INTRODUCTION
Last night my cousin’s power supply unit stopped working and in the process it also managed to damage the systems mainboard, not to mention the small fireworks display in his room.  Now i haven't actually seen something like that happening in many years and so i was quite surprised to hear this, until he told me that he actually chose an OEM 550W power supply unit for his system just because he thought that an 40Euros OEM power supply is the same as a brand one. Anyways the importance of a good power supply has been underline a hundred times over and based on that today’s review is about one of the best 850W power supply units in the market today, the XFX 850W Black Edition.

XFX dares to go where the competition would like to, but can’t. That’s because, at XFX, we don’t just create great digital video components—we build all-out, mind-blowing, performance-crushing, competition-obliterating video cards and motherboards. And, not only are they amazing, you don’t have to live on dry noodles and peanut butter to afford them. XFX happens to be one of the best companies in the graphics card segment of the market but power supply units? That was my first response when i first heard of their plans to also enter that segment of the market almost 2 years ago. Don't take this the wrong way, i really enjoy seeing a company expand but from graphics cards to power supplies the gap is quite large. Of course much like 8/10 of the power supply brands out there XFX has assigned the manufacturing of their units to one of the few companies out there that can pull that through, something quite natural, but specs-wise i was very curious to see what XFX had asked. Finally after waiting for a long time today we have the best power supply in their line, the 850W Black Edition.
